On August 5th and 6th the City of White Rock is celebrating its annual Spirit of the Sea Festival. There are many exciting events and entertainment over the course of two days.

For the kids, East Beach is going to be turned into a mini carnival! At the End of the promenade there will be carnival themed activities on Saturday and Sunday from 10–4

Team Island Quad Kite Flying has teamed up with White Rock Sea Festival to present an impressive feat of kite flying routines synchronized to music! Tune in on both Saturday and  Sunday for the performance from 10-4
There will be free Volleyball on East Beach for families so come on down and show your skills along the gorgeous White Rock Waterfront.
Explore along East Beach White Rock with a fun Beach Scavenger Hunt from 12-3 and BCKA Kite Making from 10-4
Don’t forget there will be, as always, lots of shopping and food vendors

On Saturday August 5th at 9:00pm there will be Chinese Lanterns handed out at the end of White Rock Pier. After that, Tom Lavin & The Legendary powder Blues perform and then the firework show takes place from 10:00pm – 10:20pm.

On August 6th, there is a Sandcastle Contest from 10-3 on East Beach. Another crowd pleaser is the Waiter’s race from 3-430. Come watch the Annual Waiter’s Race that pits the fastest waiters along Marine Drive against each other! We are anticipating a fun crazy event as always!

The final event of the festival is the Torchlight Parade. It takes place along Marine Drive heading West to East from 8:15-11:00. Last year’s Torchlight Parade was a huge hit so don’t miss out on this one!
